Seven new hires thanks to the “Pack Your Future Academy”

The first edition of the “Pack Your Future Academy” has concluded with seven new hires. The Academy is a training and onboarding program promoted by Crocco, a Cornedo Vicentino–based company specializing in high-tech, sustainable flexible packaging, in collaboration with Randstad Italia.

The initiative was designed to prepare new professionals for Crocco’s production departments, particularly the extrusion area, where processes run on a continuous cycle. The class was made up of 11 participants of different ages and nationalities, including very young recent graduates. It was a diverse group that completed a fully paid, from-scratch training journey.

The program combined theoretical lessons, largely taught by Crocco’s internal staff, with hands-on training alongside production teams. In addition to safety and technical topics, the training explored the organizational aspects of continuous-cycle work and shift systems, helping participants better understand the role and the production environment.

“Transparency and clarity were appreciated just as much as the technical content,” says Carlotta Nardon, HR Manager at Crocco. “We chose to openly explain not only what we do, but why we do it in a certain way. It’s an important step: when newcomers understand the reasoning behind organizational and production choices, shifts or work rhythms become clearer and more manageable. This builds trust and a sense of belonging.”

The outcome is tangible: the seven new hires represent around a 4 percent increase in production staff, confirming both the effectiveness of the project and the company’s commitment to structured, inclusive onboarding pathways.

The “Pack Your Future Academy” involved around ten Crocco employees in theoretical instruction and eight production operators in practical training. This shared effort helped highlight internal expertise and foster direct dialogue between long-time process experts and newcomers entering the production world for the first time.

“It was a team effort for us as well,” Nardon continues. “Those who taught had to explain, clarify, simplify, which helped them grow too. We saw production colleagues step up with enthusiasm, and that’s one of the most rewarding outcomes of the project.”

The initiative also offered an opportunity to reflect on how Crocco welcomes and integrates new talent. The goal is not only to fill staffing needs, but to create an informed, high-quality entry process that narrows the gap between training and real work.

“Starting from zero proved to be a winning choice,” Nardon concludes. “It allowed us to pass on skills as well as the Crocco culture: respect for people, responsibility toward the environment, and the importance of doing things well every day. It’s a model we intend to repeat in the future.”
